One must learn the rules so one can break them properly.

The process of discovering your fearless self is of refinement, not adding. The best way to reconnect with your freedom is to look at the rules you have that govern your freedom.

You__l learn, as you get older, that rules are made to be broken. Be bold enough to live life on your terms, and never, ever apologize for it. Go against the grain, refuse to conform, take the road less traveled instead of the well-beaten path. Laugh in the face of adversity, and leap before you look. Dance as though EVERYBODY is watching. March to the beat of your own drummer. And stubbornly refuse to fit in.

There are two rules for sucess:1. Never tell everything you know.

A relationship run by rules, instead of love is a relationship that is on the road to failure.

People suicide because of the board rules, they don't like it. So people suicide, they don't see any other out of this place!

Use the information you__e been given as an individual, but NEVER let what you__e heard or read or experienced in the past prevent you from answering the call on your life. You are responsible for your life. That includes the voice inside you and everything it calls you to do. Don__ ignore that voice to follow rules that don__ fit. When a jacket doesn__ fit anymore, it__ time to donate it. Same principle applies for rules which no longer serve you. You don__ have to curse the rules or condemn them. In fact, there might be someone else who would benefit from them at the exact moment you no longer need them. Just step into all that you can be and all that you can do.

It is important for all of us to understand that free people are not governed by rules. Here at Hillsdale we are governed by goals, and then the rules are very broad.

Learn the rules of the game and become a better player.

If somebody tells you a rule, break it. That's the only thing to move things forward.

I'm afraid that just as wealth and privilege can be a stumbling block on the path to the gospel, theological expertise and piety can also get in the way of the kingdom. Like wealth, these are not inherently bad things. However, they are easily idolized. The longer our lists of rules and regulations, the more likely it is that God himself will break one.

I have been known to think outside of all rules. Even my own.

We have a set of rules for our faith, our sexuality, our marriages, our dating relationships, for choosing a church__othing is off-limits. We tell ourselves to always do this, and never do that, and everything will turn out perfectly. Worse than that, we back up our rules with Bible verses and tell everyone else to follow them too.
