For me, the two weeks between Christmas and Twelfth Night have come to be reserved for desultory reading. The pressure of the holiday is over, the weather outside is frightful, there are lots of leftovers to munch on, vacation hours are being used up.

A good vacation for me is going to warm weather. Being able to go outside, in the sun, hit the beach, play outside sports. Being active outside. Going swimming, hanging by the pool, having a couple drinks, having a couple of your close buddies around, and just having a blast.

Laughter is an instant vacation.

The readers are the ones who let us live our dreams. I try to write books which are really compelling - that you'd take on vacation and rather than going out, you'd read in your hotel room because you had to find out what happened. Hopefully that's what readers are responding to.

The best way to not die with vacation time on the books is to stop worrying about what you shoulda done. Stop worrying about what you woulda done. Stop worrying about what you coulda done.

Today was about chasing sun-rays, beach waves, & sunsets. All things beautiful that give you peace are worth chasing. Everything else isn't.

So, in her matchless colour, she invited us out over those rough terrestrial roads, from which, seated beside Mme. de Villeparisis in her barouche, we should see, all day long and without ever reaching it, the coolness of her gentle palpitation.

I have heard several people justify working long hours and getting home from work late it night by saying things like, __ have to put in all this time to make up for the vacation we__e going to take this summer._ I bet if I asked your kids, they__ say that they__ rather have you home every night to play with them than the weeklong summer trip to the lake where you__e stressed out the whole time anyways.

A vacation is three times more work without the payment.

When you look at a flower with an appreciative heart and get lost in the magical beauty, you really get a vacation from the everyday stressful life.

This is exactly the sort of thing that makes traveling wonderful for me, the reason I defied everyone. The two of us together like we have always been, not saying anything, not doing anything special, just on vacation. I know nothing lasts, but even when you know that things are just about over, sometimes you can run back and take a little bit more and no one will notice.

After a while, just staying alive becomes a full-time job. No wonder we need a vacation.

Vacation time is something we all accrue, but only the wisest of us recognize its importance.

Reaching the top requires taking a good break every time you need it! On the way up, you must never hesitate to stop for a while!
