It is glorious fun racing down the Hump, but you can't do it on windy days because then you are not there, but the fallen leaves do it instead of you. There is almost nothing that has such a keen sense of fun as a fallen leaf.

Destiny was a machine built over time, each choice that you made in life adding another gear, another conveyor belt, another assemblyman. That was all you got.

Bottom line? As much as youwanted someone to change and believed they could, they were in control of their life. Not you. And you could throw yourself against the wall of their choices until you were black-and-blue and dizzy as hell, but unless they decided to take a different road, the outcome wasn__ going to be what you wanted.

For so long I have lived on the edge of an invisible world. Sometimes I feel like the scattered debris left over after the personality has fallen out of the sky.

Only God understands how incredibly far we__e fallen, and only God understands how incredibly far we can rise. And only we can determine if we__e going to wallow in the mediocrity that is born of the refusal to understand either.
