By studying Bhagavad-gīt_, one can become a soul completely surrendered to the Supreme Lord and engage himself in pure devotional service. As the Lord takes charge, one becomes completely free from all kinds of materialistic endeavors.

Our ultimate devotion is to be a reflection of a divine work that is continuously unfolding in our hearts.

The devout life does not solely entail living as a monk or ascetic, though that is fine. The devout life requires bringing God into all things.

And if we ask how are we to know where our hearts are, the answer is just as simple - everything which hinders us from loving God above all things and acts as a barrier between ourselves and our obedience to Jesus is our treasure, and the place where our heart is.
