Prayer is a great opportunity to receive grace from God.

God__ grace is our greatest need.

Grace is the gateway to heaven.

You don't have to go looking for adventure. If you follow Jesus, adventure comes looking for you. Jesus didn't carry a cross to Calvary so that we could live a halfway life. He died so that we could come alive in the truest and fullest sense of the word.

The very nature of the gospel is Jesus inviting the disciples on an adventure. To do what they'd never done and go where they'd never gone. Never a dull moment! You cannot follow Jesus and be bored at the same time.

I was so tired of this ceaseless, day-to-day tug-of-war between my hormones and my head, my vanity and my virtue. I felt very much as though I were caught in the middle of some dreadful battle in which taking a side of my own would mean certain misery in either case.

We must be so heavenly minded that we are compelled to be of earthly good!

Being broken isn't the worst thing. We can be mended and put together again. We don__ have to be ashamed of our past. We can embrace the history that gives us value, and see our cracks as beautiful.

We have to walk by faith to possess all that is duly ours.

Christians who fail also avoid other Christians, especially when they are feeling bad and guilty in the midst of their failure. It's sad to see this dynamic of the law happen in the church and then see the opposite happen in Twelve Step groups. In these recovery groups, people are taught that the very first thing to do when you fail is to call someone in the group and get to a meeting. They are taught to "run to grace," as it were, to turn immediately to their higher power and their support system. The sad part is that this theology is more biblical than what is practices in many Christian environments, where people in failure run from instead of to God and the people they need.

Hold fast to your faith.Keep your hope in the Lord.Embrace the love of God.

Do not be anxious and begin to pray.

True sacrifice is merely self-control.

The more you pray, the more you are stating your desire to live your life by God__ standards.

Godly character is what you are when you've been tried and proven. It is not what you say you are, or what people think you are but, instead, it is what shines through after you have suffered and have endured. It is the proof of your genuineness.

Until the Second Coming, sin will remain a part of earthly existence. And as long as there is sin, there will be suffering and pain. But suffering by persecution is not a sine qua non of the church. If it is, there are few if any true churches in North America today.

We want God to change situations. God wants to change us in them.

Sometimes the right thing to do will cost us our greatest sacrifices, but the rewards will always outweigh our losses
