There is no record in Scripture that an angel visited John__ cell to explain the meaning of his persecution. This great, godly man who was the designated forerunner to Jesus went through the same confusing experiences as we. It is comforting to know that John responded in a very human way. He sent a secret message to Jesus from his prison cell, asking __re you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?_ (Matthew 11:3). Have you ever felt like asking that question?

When you ask, expect the answer.

Asking is the first level of prayer.

Praying, we usually ask too much. I know I do. Sometimes we even demand. I think I am learning to ask enough for the moment--not for the whole year, utterly veiled in mystery; not even for the week, the month ahead; but just for today.Jesus said it all when He told us to pray: 'Give us this day our daily bread.'That bread is not only material, it is spiritual; in asking for it, we ask for a sufficiency of strength, courage, hope and light. Enough courage for the step ahead--not for the further miles. Enough strength for the immediate task or ordeal. Enough material gain to enable us to meet our daily obligations. Enough light to see the path--right before our feet.

When asking for advice, search not for what is on the surface, Dig deeper, questioning what does this person believe in?

God will generously give you wisdom, if thy will ask.

The soul may ask God for anything, and never fail.

If you don't have the confidence to ask, you will never have the confidence to convince.

Never assume you know it all. Ask questions.

State what you want, and go for it, don't refuse yourself a request you did not make.

What do you have that the Lord didn__ provide?What do you need that the Lord can__ provide?
