Self Mastery is the ability to maneuver through life without the mind or emotional attachment. It is being a mindfully present observer instead of the mind identified perceiver.

It is not what happens to us that causes our pain and suffering, it is our thinking pattern and perception of our experiences that create our reality and contribute to our well-being or suffering

The mind is a lifelong consolidation of experiences and inner dialogue that was invented by self-perception - our ego.
