thankfulness

Those blessings are sweetest that are won with prayer and worn with thanks.

I have learned that bitterness, resentment and self-pity do nothing to lift the gloomy clouds of a spiritual February in my life. If anything, these sins only harden the soil of my heart, making it difficult for new growth to spring forth at God__ appointed time.

Most people only thank GOD for what's happened. Today, I give thanks for what didn't happen. Seriously, we have no clue what we're being saved from, yet desperately prayed for. But, I can only imagine, and for that I am thankful.

The consequence model, the logical one, the amoral one, the one which refuses any divine intervention, is a problem really for just the (hypothetical) logician. You see, towards God I would rather be grateful for Heaven (which I do not deserve) than angry about Hell (which I do deserve). By this the logician within must choose either atheism or theism, but he cannot possibly through good reason choose anti-theism. For his friend in this case is not at all mathematical law: the law in that 'this equation, this path will consequently direct me to a specific point'; over the alternative and the one he denies, 'God will send me wherever and do it strictly for his own sovereign amusement.' The consequence model, the former, seeks the absence of God, which orders he cannot save one from one's inevitable consequences; hence the angry anti-theist within, 'the logical one', the one who wants to be master of his own fate, can only contradict himself - I do not think it wise to be angry at math.

Thank God for the grace to work.

Lord, I'm thankful for every stumble because it was then that You lifted me; I'm thankful for every heartache that made me stronger than I knew I could be.

Ingratitude to God does not rely only on our refusal to give the verbal thanksgiving due to Him, but also recides in our inability to appreciate his gifts and potentials in us by leaving them untapped.

Spiritual joy is what you experience when you choose to give thanks to God no matter what happens__ven when things go wrong.

The road to happiness starts with a deep breath and an awareness of the many blessings tied to that single breath.
