He slumped down in the command seat and shut off the irritating alarm. He sighed again. It seemed to be a wonderful day for Mykl d__ngelo, captain and owner of the __ramp_ freighter Pegasus. As wonderful days went on his personal scale, this one was rated one of the best.

Swearing, d__ngelo entered the elevator. Fortunately, that was also still in order. When he got to the bridge, everything looked pretty ordinary _ except for the third body of the day, which was lying spread-eagled on the deck with an almost comical look of surprise on his face. Jang was dead, although d__ngelo couldn__ see the cause, but then, he was no doctor. He sighed dismally. Now he hadn__ a navigator either. Or a crew for that matter.

Beaming into the thick of a tree without becoming a lifelong tree hugger was a tricky business. A precision job. Scrooby__ job at the Time Saving Agency was a tough one. Billions of lives depended on him not screwing up. Literally billions and billions. Once, he__ screwed up in only a very small way and people wore those little yellow smiley faces on t-shirts for decades afterwards _ and that was just a small screw up. He sighed. Here he sat, in the branches of an apple tree in an apple tree orchard _ and without a single apple in sight. Below him, Isaac was waiting to get bonked on the noggin with an apple so that he could fulfill history by toddling off to invent gravity and shape scientific and mathematical principles for generations to come. Only one problem _ no apples.
