pessimism

My life is so bad that it's worse than it really is.

This is Long Island, land of the rushed, home of the stressed.

Seeing the mud around a lotus is pessimism, seeing a lotus in the mud is optimism.

You can't ever really have enough worth that when you're gone, the spot you left won't close over.

There must be logical minds among all species if they hope to survive. Not everyone can be bridled with hope and optimism.
