[What Rushdie took away from reading Gunter Grass's The Tin Drum]: Go for broke. Always try and do too much. Dispense with safety nets. Take a deep breath before you begin talking. Aim for the stars. Keep grinning. Be ruthless. Argue with the world. And never forget that writing is as close as we get to keeping a hold on the thousand and one things--childhood, certainties, cities, doubts, dreams, instants, phrases, parents, loves--that go on slipping like sand, through our fingers.

Just bring your wits. Sometimes that's the most effective weapon any of us has.

Life is about the people we meet, and the experiences we have along the way.

I speak less because my words are precious and my advices are priceless.

An advice is truly valuable when people not just give it their ears but also their obedience.

Dear Future Daughter:1) When you__e at some party, chain smoking on the roof with some strange girl with blue hair and exorbitant large dark eyes, ask her about her day. I promise you, you won__ regret it. Often times you__l find the strangest of people have the most captivating of stories to tell.2) Please, never mistake desire for love. Love will engulf your soul, whilst desire will emerge as acid, slowly making it__ way through your veins, gradually burning you from the inside out.3) No one is going to fucking save you, anything you__e read or heard otherwise is bullshit.4) One day a boy is going to come along who__ touch feels like fire and who__ words taste like vanilla, when he leaves you, you will want to die. If you know anything at all, know that it is only temporary.5) Your mental health comes before school baby, always. If its midnight, and you have an exam the next day but your hands have been shaking for the past hour and a half and you__e not so sure you want to be alive anymore, pull out that carton of Ben and Jerry__ and afterwards, go the fuck to bed. So what if you get a 68% on the exam the next day? You took care of yourself and at the end of the day that will always come before a high test score. To hell with anyone who tells you differently.

You ought to love and care for your parents in their old age.

I__ not paralyzed by fear about what might have been or what might be. I__ grateful for what is and I make excellent use of what I__e got.
