History is so comprehensive and detailed. I couldn't be a history student. I thought there was a time when I couldn't be a history maker, because of my limited understanding of what that meant. Today, thinking about the passing of Julian Bond and a wonderful conversation with a woman who has influenced so much, I think we all are history makers. All of our names will not be as known as Mr. Bond's or in books, but our names will be on someone's tongue and our memories will be in someone's heart, and we will all be a part of someone's personal story. We have a unique opportunity at this very second to change how we affect someone's life as living history and historians. Flaws and all. Yep.

Life is a sacred shared-life.

I really don__ want to win. I just want to improve and be better than I was.

Unfortunately we treat others as we treat ourselves. We should try being genuinely kind to ourselves and the rest will come naturally, like a Platinum Rule.

The key to cultivating confidence in ourselves is understanding our right to make the truth our own.

He who fights is powerless, but he who loves is power itself.

Having a vested interest in other souls unconditionally creates a ripple effect that produces miracles in the lives of those around us.

A simple truth delivered in kindness may be the impetus that ignites a passionate fire in another__ soul and goes on to become the source of motivation for positive change.

It doesn't matter how you conceive of divinity. It only matters that you see it in everything, including yourself.

Compassion, in which all ethics must take root, can only attain its full breadth and depth if it embraces all living creatures and does not limit itself to mankind.

Compassion grows in us when we know how the energy of love is available all around us.

Thinking we are only supposed to have loving & compassionate feelings can be a terrible obstacle to spiritual practice.

I believe the vital ingredient is love__ state of caring and compassion that is so deep and genuine that the barriers we erect around the self are transcended.

Each of us has a call on our lives. This call says, __t__ time to get your act together, then take it on the road._ This call says, __ut on your traveling shoes so that you can be of use to others... so that you can wear your soul on the outside, light the way for others, and pass it on.

A person can put up any kind of protective wall, but love and truth always find a way around it.

Have compassion for people as long as you are one of them too.

There is no real need to save others, because they will help themselves learning from us, when we choose to shine our light of unconditional love. Through our loving examples others can create, for themselves, an opportunity to act the way they are inspired by us.
