The hope is indeed that some will experience and believe: The purpose of a number of spiritual gurus is to demonstrate to God-fearing men faux spirituality.

Nor does the being hungry prove that we have bread.

Real? What is real? And tell me, what importance does reality have anyway? Did you learn from the experience? Now, that is important!

Not to experience the reality why you are created is not to know God

It is instead just the grace of a common person turning suddenly real because he is common and human and recoignizable.

A man breaking his journey between one place and another at a third place of no name, character, population or significance, sees a unicorn cross his path and disappear. That in itself is startling, but there are precedents for mystical encounters of various kinds, or to be less extreme, a choice of persuasions to put it down to fancy; until--"My God," says a second man, "I must be dreaming, I thought I saw a unicorn."
