i have been told many times by family, friends, colleagues and strangers that I, a black African Muslim lesbian, am not included in this vision; that my dreams are a reflection of my upbringing in a decadent, amoral Western society that has corrupted who I really am. But who am I, really? Am I allowed to speak for myself or must my desires form the battleground for causes I do not care about? My answer to that is simple: __o one allows anyone anything._ By rejecting that notion you discover that only you can give yourself permission on how to lead your life, naysayers be damned. In the end something gives way. The earth doesn__ move but something shifts. That shift is change and change is the layman__ lingo for that elusive state that lovers, dreamers, prophets and politicians call __reedom_.

I love you but I got to love me more.

Think of yourself as an athlete. I guarantee you it will change the way you walk, the way you work, and the decisions you make about leadership, teamwork, and success.

Tools of empowerment - heartset and mindset.

She has a fiery soul that cannot be tamed.She has free spirit that cannot be maimed.She moves with the wind and flows with the river.She howls at the moon and smiles at the sun.Just when you think she is finished, she declares, ____e just begun.__ike wild flowers, she grows where she decides to push through fallow ground.Like wild fires, she spreads with speed that can__ be drowned.She has mystery in her blood, magic in her touch and regardless of her frameshe can be too much-wild woman.She is not predictable, controllable nor the people pleasing kind.That__ why she is called wild woman and can never be defined.

Don__ allow anyone to shame you with your life story. Walk in your truth knowing that you are the better because of it. It is because of all the things you've been through that you are able to be who you are today.

Somewhere someone else__ break-through is hinging on you simply knowing that you matter. So please, remind yourself of this truth every single day.

Other people will not always see our worth the way we wish they would. Sometimes our own loved ones won__ be able to compute our true value. That doesn__ mean you are of less value or worth. It means that they__e unable to see you for the amazing wonder that you are and that__ their loss.

You must remember that you were made so that the world might be graced with a brilliance that only YOU can display.

The truth is that you may mess up a bit. Don__ panic. Relax and remember to give your best and let the chips fall where they may.

You will trip up and fall sometimes. It doesn't take away from how great you are. You will not always say the right thing. It doesn't revoke the light within you.

...and they all lived as happily as they allowed themselves to be.

Clothing and features fade with time. I am happy with who I am today, and I am happy with who I will be tomorrow.

Great women aren't born great, they become great.
