The essential act of war is destruction, not necessarily of human lives, but of the products of human labour. War is a way of shattering to pieces, or pouring into the stratosphere, or sinking in the depths of the sea, materials which might otherwise be used to make the masses too comfortable, and hence, in the long run, too intelligent.

Rumours should be juicy and gossips must be mouth-watering, since they have to uplift and make people feel better. People who live according to the world__ standard are confused, and therefore get into all kinds of trouble that leads to destruction.

The most dangerous people in the world are not the tiny minority instigating evil acts, but those who do the acts for them. For example, when the British invaded India, many Indians accepted to work for the British to kill off Indians who resisted their occupation. So in other words, many Indians were hired to kill other Indians on behalf of the enemy for a paycheck. Today, we have mercenaries in Africa, corporate armies from the western world, and unemployed men throughout the Middle East killing their own people - and people of other nations - for a paycheck. To act without a conscience, but for a paycheck, makes anyone a dangerous animal. The devil would be powerless if he couldn't entice people to do his work. So as long as money continues to seduce the hungry, the hopeless, the broken, the greedy, and the needy, there will always be war between brothers.

We have to heal our wounded world. The chaos, despair, and senseless destruction we see today are a result of the alienation that people feel from each other and their environment.

Unfortunately, people don__ know how they are created and live making grave mistakes, losing their peace, destroying their mentality and failing to fulfill their callings

Fear tells me that while there might be a host of people who wish to stand beside me in times of crisis, the tangled wreckage is sometimes so enormous that the best of their efforts leave them stranded at a great distance. And standing desperately alone surveying the carnage that holds all others a bay, God suddenly taps me on the shoulder, leans over and whispers, 'how about a little demolition?

Maybe it was true that only beauty would save the world, or truth, or some other high-flown garbage; but fear was still more powerful than anything else. Fear destroyed everything: everything born of beauty, the tender shoots of all that was fine, wise, eternal...

to love is to destroy, and that to be loved is to be the one destroyed.

The day when the fire that we had lit in our minds reaches our hearts, we will start turning every person that we come in contact with into ashes. We become the ghosts that we always feared.

I often find that people confuse inner peace with some sense of insensibility whenever something goes wrong. The days of miracles have passed. I do not believe, of course, that there was ever any day of actual miracles. I cannot understand that there were ever any miracles at all. My guide must be my reason, and at thought of miracles my reason is rebellious. Now there is a final reason I think that Jesus says, "Love your enemies." It is this: that love has within it a redemptive power. And there is a power there that eventually transforms individuals. Just keep being friendly to that person. Just keep loving them, and they can__ stand it too long. Oh, they react in many ways in the beginning. They react with guilt feelings, and sometimes they__l hate you a little more at that transition period, but just keep loving them. And by the power of your love they will break down under the load. That__ love, you see. It is redemptive, and this is why Jesus says love. There__ something about love that builds up and is creative. There is something about hate that tears down and is destructive. Oppenheimer was lamenting the subservience of science to innate human cruelty in an address to the American Philosophical Society: __e have made a thing, a most terrible weapon, that has altered abruptly and profoundly the nature of the world ... a thing that by all the standards of the world we grew up in is an evil thing. And by so doing ... we have raised again the question of whether science is good for man._ This public admission of personal despair at the moral collapse of the modern world__ leading intellectual enterprise could not be more nakedly penitent.

If it can be destroyed by the truth, it deserves to be destroyed by the truth.
