Never let your desire to have an accepting heart towards others keep you from your strong boundaries. The hurricane may come blasting at our door; yet it doesn__ mean we have to invite it in for tea. Sometimes, it__ important to recognize that the hurricane is a powerful and damaging storm, not a light spring shower.

Allowance (non-judgmental, non-resistance to what Is) is a two-way street; our reaction to everyone and everything moving toward us and our reaction to our response moving forward...

It is Christlike to assume that people are trying to do the best they can. I know I am a better person when I cultivate empathy, and I have been blessed for having received it from others. As members of the body of Christ, we are each responsible for creating a space not only of acceptance, but of joy and encouragement for our sisters and brothers and the stories they are working so hard to live well.

Close both eyes see with the other one. Then we are no longer saddled by the burden of our persistent judgments our ceaseless withholding our constant exclusion. Our sphere has widened and we find ourselves quite unexpectedly in a new expansive location in a place of endless acceptance and infinite love.

And it takes humility to accept that we might not have everything we want in our hands at the moment_ but that what we do have is good, is worth keeping. Even if something isn't everything, yet, it can be worth everything, right now! You just have to spread your arms in the air and start gliding!
